Welcome
Customs Engine⢠(CuE), a software-based e-customs solution, addresses the challenges facing customs authorities:
- Ensuring compliance with international ICT standards. CuE follows the J2EE and SOA specifications, stores data as standard XML, and complies with WCO Data Model 3.0, the Revised Kyoto Convention guidelines and the SAFE Framework.
- Reducing costs and paperwork. CuE provides automation features that eliminate unnecessary paperwork, especially where data entry and document preparation are concerned. Less time is required for inland and border formalities. Partnership with the business community and government agencies is easier. Customs data can be exchanged between all stakeholders, from economic operators to customs officers.
- Improving supply chain security and risk management. Customs offices using CuE can exchange pre-arrival and pre-departure data to ensure just that. CuE keeps balance between customs control and the speed of trade.
- Preventing, targeting, and investigating fraud. In line with legislation, CuE helps to inspect goods and control import and export. CuE offers reliable data for analyzing and assessing risks and recognizing patterns of fraud.
- Ensuring uniform, harmonized, and proper function of national customs legislation. CuE is highly configurable. The software modules of CuE can be combined with other components created by local software companies, providing for easy integration.
- Integrating with customs offices in the European Union. CuE provides less complex and better-structured rules, and regroups several regulations to fulfill the EU e-Government initiative in the area of customs. CuE contributes to better compliance with other Community policies, such as policies dealing with indirect taxation, agriculture, commerce, environment, health, and consumer protection.
