Inspection Module
The inspection module provides other modules with the customs officer work list management functionality.
When document processing modules (e.g. declaration module, transit module) determine that some risks must be checked, they assign the controls to customs officers. Inspection module provides means for managing those controls.
- Customs officers are present with a list of controls, received from different modules. The list can be prioritized and sorted according to customs officers criteria.
- Customs officer selects control from the list and starts the inspection. System provides information about the documents that were basis for the controls and also the control details.
- Customs officer performs the controls. After the controls are complete, customs officers records the results of the controls in the inspection module, together with the decision, should the goods released or stopped.
- Inspection module sends the results of control back to the systems that originated the control tasks, so that the processing of declarations can be resumed.
- If the customs officer's decision was to stop the goods, then the declaration processing is stopped. If the decision was to release the goods, the declaration processing continues.
The inspection module offers currently only basic functions. It is envisioned that in the future versions, the inspection module will be able to communicate with external users (e.g. officers of other governmental agencies, who must execute specific controls).
