Transit Module

The transit module provides means for managing the full life cycle of the transit documents and implements the DG TAXUD New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) specification and processes.

The transit module supports fully electronic transit declaration and TIR carnet processing. Transit declarations and TIR carnets get equal treatment from the transit module:

  1. Lodgment of transit declarations in the office of departure
  2. Declaration validation
  3. Risk analysis
  4. Control tasks
  5. Guarantee management
  6. Release of goods for transit
  7. Handling of transit declarations in office of transit
  8. Handling of transit declarations in office of destination
  9. Handling of enquires

Integration of the transit module with other document processing modules allows tracking consignments throughout the movement through supply chain. The integration happens at different levels. It is possible to navigate between the related documents in user interface. Systems can also perform automatic crosschecks between documents to validate the consistency of the lodged declarations.

The transit module contains also the functionality for management of guarantees. The functionality related to guarantees falls into two categories:

  • Processes related to the registration of the guarantees.
  • Processes related to the usage of registered guarantees during the declaration processing.

The guarantee accounting module also handles the release of the bookings. When the circumstances that demanded the presentation of a guarantee no longer exist, the guarantee is released.
